Senior Associate – Family Law | Scotland
£Competitive | Hybrid Working | 30 Days’ Holiday + Benefits
Feeling like your career has hit a ceiling?
You’re an experienced Family Lawyer. You know your stuff, you’ve built a strong reputation, and you’re trusted with complex matters. But what happens next? If the answer in your current firm is “not sure”, it might be time to look elsewhere.
About the Opportunity
We’re working with an ambitious specialist family law business going through an exciting period of growth across Scotland, and they’re looking for experienced Family Lawyers to join their teams in Scotland at Senior Associate level.
And this isn’t just another “Senior Associate” title with the same old job.
Why now?
Our client has recently partnered with one of the UK’s largest specialist family law firms, creating a genuine platform for growth, investment and career development.
The ambition is big. The opportunity is bigger.
You’ll join a business where experienced lawyers are encouraged to build their profile, develop their leadership skills and play a real part in shaping the next stage of the firm's growth.
There’s also a clear focus on developing people from within, including access to a dedicated career development programme designed to help solicitors identify where they want to go next — and build a plan to get there.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
