Family Law Paralegal

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 DOE

Due to continued growth, our client, a highly regarded specialist family law practice, is seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join their Cardiff office. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised legal professional to become part of a busy and supportive team, working alongside experienced solicitors on a range of private family law matters. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting fee earners and ensuring the smooth progression of client files.

The Role Key responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting legal documents, correspondence, briefs, court orders and bundles
  • Preparing court applications and witness statements
  • Drafting Land Registry applications, including RX1s and SEV applications
  • Preparing Form E, Form H and N2600 documentation
  • Uploading and downloading documents via the HMCTS Portal
  • Reviewing financial disclosure and analysing bank statements
  • Attending client meetings and taking detailed attendance notes
  • Liaising with clients, experts, courts and third parties for updates and instructions
  • Taking detailed client instructions and messages for fee earners
  • Attending conferences and hearings with Counsel and providing comprehensive summaries
  • Managing diaries, court directions and conference arrangements
  • Assisting fee earners and the wider support team as required

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Paralegal within Family Law
  • Strong knowledge of family law procedures and legal terminology
  • Experience preparing financial remedy documentation
  • Excellent drafting and legal research skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organisational and time management abilities
  • Experience using legal case management systems and legal software
  • A professional, proactive and client-focused approach
