Family Law Partner | Head of Family Law | Partner Level
Glasgow | Hybrid Working
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Family Law Partner to join a law firm in Glasgow, advising clients on the full spectrum of family law matters.
This role is ideal for a senior family lawyer seeking the autonomy to shape and grow a successful practice. You'll bring a combination of strategic leadership, negotiation, and litigation expertise and will join a firm recognised for handling complex, high-value cases while delivering an exceptional client experience.

The role
As Head of Family Law, you will lead the strategic development of the department while maintaining your own caseload of complex and often high-value family law matters. Key responsibilities include:

- Advising clients on divorce, separation, and financial provision matters
- Managing cases involving child arrangements, parental rights, and relocation disputes
- Providing guidance on cohabitation claims, pre and post-nuptial agreements, and civil partnership dissolution
- Handling complex financial settlements, including disputes involving business interests and substantial assets
- Resolving matters through negotiation and mediation, while delivering effective representation in court when required
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting the ongoing development of the wider family law team
- Building and strengthening relationships with professionals, business owners, and high-net-worth clients
About you
This opportunity would suit a Family Law Partner who:
- Has extensive experience advising on all aspects of Scottish family law, including complex financial and child-related matters
- Has experience leading, mentoring, or developing a successful team
- Delivers clear, commercial, and pragmatic advice tailored to individual client needs
- Is equally comfortable negotiating settlements and conducting litigation
- Adopts a discreet and client-centric approach when working with professionals and high-net-worth individuals
- Enjoys business development and is motivated by the opportunity to grow a department's profile and client base
