Family Department | Full-time | Highly Attractive Remuneration Package + Bonus | Manchester

About The Role

Are you an ambitious Family Law solicitor ready to build and lead a Family Law practice within a modern, entrepreneurial firm?

We are looking for a Family Law Partner to establish, grow and lead our Family Law offering in Manchester. This is a genuine opportunity to shape a practice from an early stage — taking ownership of the Manchester family caseload, setting its strategic direction, and building it into a full team with the firm’s backing. The role would suit a lawyer who wants the autonomy to build something of their own, supported by the resources and expertise of an established, forward-thinking firm.

Prosperity Law continues to grow across multiple practice areas, supported by real investment in technology, digital infrastructure, and business development. You would join a firm that backs its lawyers to build — with a capable and committed in-house marketing and business-development team, and continued investment in both.

Core Responsibilities

Building & Leading the Practice

  • Establish and grow the Manchester Family Law practice, setting its strategic direction.
  • Build and lead a team over time — supported initially by a paralegal, with a clear mandate to recruit and develop lawyers and support staff as the practice grows.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and client-focused culture.
  • Work closely with the firm’s leadership team on planning, performance, and growth.

Winning & Growing Work

  • Develop and grow your own caseload, building the department’s client base and market presence in Manchester and beyond.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with referrers, introducers, professional contacts, and existing clients.
  • Work alongside the marketing team on content, thought leadership, networking, and profile-raising activities.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-referral and collaboration across the firm’s wider practice areas.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
