Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Family Law Solicitor, based in Dumfries with some flexibility to work from home. The role involves managing a varied caseload of family law matters, including divorce, separation, child contact and residence, financial provision, and cohabitation issues. - Advising clients
- Drafting legal documents
- Negotiating settlements
- Attending court and hearings as required
- Collaborating with colleagues on complex cases
The solicitor will maintain accurate case files, ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards, and contribute to business development activities such as client outreach and referrals. The role also includes working closely with the wider team to provide integrated services where family law matters intersect with property and other areas of law.

Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in Family Law, with the ability to manage a diverse family law caseload.
- Qualified Scottish solicitor - all levels of PQE considered
- Excellent client care, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters discreetly and empathetically.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing time and workload independently while collaborating within a team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and case law.
