Leiper Gupta Family Lawyers Ltd (LGFL) is a boutique family law firm based in Swallowfield, near Reading on the Hampshire–Berkshire borders. The firm focuses exclusively on family law matters, offering high levels of expertise in divorce, separation, and other issues affecting family life. LGFL provides a tailored, pragmatic, and forward-thinking service while maintaining traditional standards of care and sensitivity. The team works collaboratively with clients, providing representation in complex litigation, and guidance in complex negotiations with spouses or partners. LGFL is committed to delivering high-quality legal solutions alongside empathetic client support.

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Swallowfield, with the option to work from home for part of the week. The Family Lawyer will advise and represent clients in matters such as divorce, separation, financial settlements, child arrangements, and other family law disputes. Daily responsibilities include managing a caseload, drafting legal documents and correspondence, preparing bundles, and engaging in negotiations and advocacy when required. The role involves conducting legal research, attending client meetings, liaising with courts and other professionals, and supporting the collaborative law process. The Family Lawyer will also contribute to practice development, maintain accurate file management, and uphold regulatory and ethical standards.

  • Experience: 1-5 years PQE
  • Qualifications: Qualified solicitor or legal executive with demonstrable experience in family law, including divorce, separation, finances, and children matters.
  • Skills:
    • Strong client care skills, with the ability to communicate sensitively and clearly, build trust, and manage emotionally complex situations.
    • Proficiency in legal drafting, case management, and negotiation, with attention to detail and sound judgment.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in a hybrid environment, organizing workload and meeting deadlines.
    • Experience in advocacy and representation in family courts and/or participation in collaborative law processes is highly desirable.
    • Familiarity with relevant UK family law legislation, procedure rules, and professional regulations.
    • Comfident using legal practice management systems, digital document tools, and remote-working technologies.
  • **Commitment to ongoing professional development and an interest in contributing to the firm’s growth and reputation.
