An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Executive Assistant to join the Family team of a highly regarded law firm based in Central London.

This is a varied and fast-paced position supporting Partners and Fee Earners, where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the department. We're looking for a proactive, highly organised EA who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys building strong relationships with colleagues and clients alike.

This role offers the chance to become an integral part of a successful team, providing first-class executive support while contributing to the wider operational and financial success of the department.

The Role

As the Family Legal EA, you will:

  • Provide comprehensive Executive Assistant support to Partners and Fee Earners within the Family team.
  • Manage busy diaries, coordinate meetings, organise UK and international travel, and oversee inbox and telephone management.
  • Prepare, amend and format legal documents and correspondence to a consistently high standard.
  • Handle legal administration including file opening and closing, billing, document production and electronic filing.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings, seminars and webinars, including room bookings, technology setup and hospitality.
  • Manage the department's document management system, knowledge resources and key contact information.
  • Prepare agendas, arrange departmental meetings, take minutes where required and follow up on action points.
  • Liaise with internal departments including Finance, HR, IT and Office Services to ensure seamless support across the team.
  • Assist with the preparation of court bundles, client documentation and other legal materials where required.
  • Support financial processes including billing, work in progress (WIP) management and aged debt monitoring.
  • Help coordinate new joiner onboarding, training schedules, CPD records and departmental initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and day-to-day support to junior secretarial staff, helping to maintain consistently high service standards.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring a professional and responsive service at all times.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Legal Executive Assistant or Senior Legal PA within a law firm.
  • Ideally experience supporting a Family law team, although candidates from other legal disciplines with strong EA experience will also be considered.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong diary management and coordination experience.
  • Experience with billing, WIP management and legal administrative processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience using legal document management systems such as iManage.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused attitude with exceptional attention to detail.
  • The confidence to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a busy team.
