Role and Facility Information
Cranbrook is a small city of about 20,000 residents and serves as the regional centre for the East Kootenays - with a population of about 80,000. The city of Cranbrook located in southeastern BC is an all-season playground offering world-class skiing and golfing. Outdoor recreation abounds with mountain biking, hiking, camping – and more – in and around lush forests, majestic lakes, and winding rivers. The area combines small town charm and affordable real estate with big city amenities. Cranbrook has the regional hospital and has an airport with daily flights to Vancouver and Calgary. There is access to lots of dining options, and top-notch entertainment. Our recreational complex is home to the Cranbrook Bucks BCHL Hockey Team and hosts A-list concerts. The Key City Theatre seats an intimate 600 patrons making every seat the best seat in the house for fans of ballet, jazz, musical theatre, and comedy. Physicians hold privileges at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital where we have excellent consultant coverage in all core specialties. Cranbrook is the ideal place for networking with other physicians and building a robust practice.
We are currently providing hospital in-patient care for clinic patients one week in every 7-8 weeks. We provide coverage for our long term care patients in the community. There are opportunities for maternity care and surgical assisting if desired.

Ideally, we are seeking a permanent physician but we also invite you to join us as an intermediate/long term locum.

Compensation
- Compensation Type Fee-for-Service
- Estimated Remuneration +$375,000 Gross
Benefits and Incentives
- May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:
- Retention Premium 14.00%
- Retention Flat Fee $21,696
- Relocation Funding Available $9,000-$15,000, depending on move location
- Recruitment Incentive $20,000
- Other Benefits/Incentives: Rural incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at time of offer. Candidates with a BC or Canada student loan may be eligible for loan forgiveness programs.
