Family Solicitor

Location: Cardiff, Porthcawl or Swansea | Hybrid working available

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Are you an experienced Family Solicitor looking for your next opportunity with a progressive and people-focused law firm?

We're working with an established and growing legal practice with offices across South Wales, who are looking to strengthen their Family team with an experienced Family Solicitor.

The preference is for someone to be based in Cardiff or Swansea, although applications will also be considered from other Welsh offices.

This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team where you'll have the autonomy to manage your own caseload, develop your expertise and build long-term client relationships.

The Role

You'll handle a varied Family caseload, providing clear, practical advice to clients through what can often be some of the most challenging periods of their lives.

Public Law experience would be welcomed, particularly experience of care proceedings, although this is not essential. The firm is happy to consider experienced Family Solicitors from other areas of Family Law who are interested in developing their public law knowledge.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
