Tier 1 Legal 500: Private Children Senior Associate

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of a high-calibre caseload within the private children department, giving you complete autonomy over your matters
  • Act as the primary adviser to clients on sensitive private children proceedings, deepening your specialist advisory capabilities and elevating your personal standing across the regional legal market.
  • Work alongside leading family specialists while mentoring junior fee earners within the team, strengthening your leadership profile and supervisory experience in a supportive setting.
  • Engage with regional referrers and professional networks across Manchester and Cheshire, expanding your personal network and profile within specialist children law.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor (minimum of 5 PQE) in England and Wales with substantial experience in private family law.
  • Demonstrated track record of independently handling a caseload predominantly focused on private children matters.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, allowing you to provide empathetic, practical advice to clients during sensitive disputes.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to guide and support developing solicitors and trainees.
