This role will give you the chance to take on more management, without the pressure of leading a team. You won’t be just doing billable work. You’ll be the go-to person to help supervise junior Solicitors, run the more complex cases yourself and play a role in business development.
With over 150 years of history, this well established, full-service law firm is looking for a 4-8 PQE Family Solicitor to join its supportive team in Chester.
The firm has multiple offices and a strong infrastructure and support team, which mean you can focus on looking after your clients.
This opportunity offers a varied private family caseload, including complex financial matters, alongside a modern working environment where fresh ideas are welcomed.

Hybrid working is standard, with typically three days per week in the office. Though you could also work out of one of their North Wales offices, depending on where you're based.
The role
Your caseload will focus primarily on matrimonial matters, alongside some children’s work. You’ll advise on divorce and financial settlements involving high-net-worth clients, substantial assets, business interests and farming estates. There is no legal aid work.
You’ll manage your own cases and client relationships, working collaboratively with colleagues on more complex matters.

About you
You’ll be a qualified Family Solicitor with 4-8 PQE, experienced in private family law and the confidence to handle complex divorce and financial matters. Experience involving business valuations, farming assets or substantial estates would be particularly relevant.
What you’ll need
- 4-8 PQE Family Solicitor.
- Qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales.
- Experience gained in private practice.
