My client is recruiting for an experienced Private Family Solicitor or Legal Executive to join their office in Derby, Derbyshire.

This is an opportunity to join an established Family, Care & Divorce team, managing a varied private family caseload while providing high-quality advice and client care. The role offers the opportunity to work with minimal supervision and contribute to the continued development of the department.
The Role
- Managing a varied caseload of private family law matters.
- Advising on separation and divorce.
- Handling financial remedy applications and financial matters for cohabitees.
- Dealing with private law children matters and domestic abuse cases.
- Providing clear and practical legal advice to clients.
- Representing clients through advocacy where required.
- Progressing cases efficiently while keeping clients informed of progress and costs.
- Delivering excellent client care and maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Maintaining accurate time recording, billing and credit control.
- Upholding confidentiality and complying with SRA requirements.
- Liaising effectively with colleagues and external organisations.
- Providing supervision and support to junior colleagues where appropriate.
- Supporting business development and the continued growth of the Family department.

The Candidate
- Be a qualified Solicitor or fully qualified Legal Executive.
- Have experience in private family law.
- Have experience across a broad range of private family matters.
- Have experience of advocacy and direct client contact and advice.
- Be confident managing their own caseload with minimal supervision.
- Have strong technical knowledge and excellent attention to detail.
- Have excellent communication and client care skills.
- Be empathetic and confident when dealing with sensitive and complex matters.
- Be proactive, organised and committed to maintaining high professional standards.
- Have experience supervising junior colleagues or be ready to take on this responsibility.
- Be willing to travel between the firm's offices to meet client and departmental requirements.
