Family Solicitor Leicester
We are looking for an experienced Family Solicitor to join an established legal team based in Leicester.
This is an opportunity for a family lawyer looking to manage a varied caseload within a supportive and professional environment. The role offers the chance to work closely with clients, provide practical legal advice and take responsibility for matters from initial instruction through to resolution.
The Role
As a Family Solicitor, you will handle a broad range of family law matters, providing clear and sensitive advice to clients throughout what can often be challenging circumstances.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied caseload of family law matters
- Advising clients on divorce and separation
- Handling financial and property matters arising from relationship breakdown
- Advising on arrangements for children
- Dealing with applications relating to child residence and contact
- Preparing and reviewing legal correspondence and documentation
- Drafting applications, statements and other court documents
- Negotiating settlements where appropriate
- Representing clients in court hearings and other proceedings as required
- Liaising with barristers, experts, mediators and other professional advisers
- Attending client meetings and providing clear, practical legal advice
- Progressing matters efficiently and keeping clients updated throughout
- Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring files remain compliant
- Managing deadlines and working effectively across multiple matters

About You
We're looking for a confident and client-focused Family Solicitor with relevant experience and the ability to manage their own caseload.
You should have:
- Qualified solicitor status in England & Wales
- Previous experience working within family law
- Strong knowledge across a range of family matters
- Experience managing a caseload with a high degree of autonomy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong drafting and negotiation abilities
- Good advocacy skills and confidence dealing with contentious matters
- A sensitive and professional approach to client care
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
