Job Title: Family Support Coordinator
Salary: £17,319.32 incl. Fringe Allowance (FTE £30,515)
Hours: 21 hours per week
Location: Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey
Closing Date: Wednesday 29th September 2026 at 5pm
Interviews: week commencing 5th of October 2026
About Home-Start Spelthorne
Home-Start Spelthorne is a local charity supporting families with young children through challenging times. We believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life. Our trained volunteers provide compassionate, confidential and practical support to local families in their own homes, helping parents build confidence and overcome the challenges they may be facing.
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Family Support Coordinator to join our small, friendly team based in Staines.
You will:
- Manage a caseload of families, providing support and ensuring that their needs are appropriately assessed and reviewed.
- Recruit, train, support and supervise Home-Start volunteers.
- Match volunteers with families and provide ongoing supervision and guidance.
- Facilitate parenting and family support groups.
- Work with local organisations and professionals.
- Contribute to raising awareness of our services within the local community.
- Support the charity's fundraising and community activities.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring and evaluation of our services.

About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has good IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office and databases.
- Understands the experiences and challenges faced by parents and families with young children.
- Has a good understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Can work independently, use their own initiative and manage a varied workload.
- Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and is confident working with a wide range of people, both on a one-to-one basis and in groups.
- Can build positive relationships with families, volunteers and professionals.
- Has access to their own car and can travel to visit families across Spelthorne.
- Is willing to work occasional evenings or weekends when required.

Relevant professional training and experience of delivering training would be an advantage.
