Job Description: Family Support Worker
As a family support worker, you will have knowledge of recovery, care planning, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external agencies.
You will also support the Through the Gate team in delivering psychosocial interventions to people who are within their last 12 weeks of their sentence, and for 12 weeks after release in the community. You will also accompany prison leavers to their community services to assist in their engagement with commissioned services and advocate for them if needed at these appointments. All risk assessments and staffing protocols will be applied, and you will not be expected to do this work in the community on your own.
About the Role
As an individual, we are looking for someone who is:
- Self-motivated
- Can work on their own initiative, but more importantly, as part of a team
- Possesses good communication and organizational skills
- Is dynamic and forward-thinking
The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable adults presenting with substance, alcohol, and associated issues.
This role will require occasional late shifts and weekends on a rota basis.
