About this Role
The Albion Academy is one of the most rapidly improving schools in Salford with a supportive and communal staff. Rated as good in all areas by OFSTED (July 2023). It is part of a cluster of four United Learning schools in Salford.
We are looking to recruit a family support officer who will work within the Pastoral team to manage and improve the day to day attendance of our students.
The successful candidate will be experienced in the following areas:
- Contacting students & parents regarding attendance, lateness, or persistent absences
- Update school records, analyse attendance data & provide reports to SLT/Governors
- Meet with school staff, pupils & parents to establish the reasons for non-attendance/poor punctuality & agree a plan with appropriate strategies & timescales to tackle the issues
- Make contact with families in response to allocated referrals through home visits and/or meetings in school
- Liaise with the Education Welfare Officer. Prepare the appropriate paperwork & present information as required to enable the school meet its obligations & statutory responsibilities.
- Be fully aware of & carry out all work in line with Child Protection /Safeguarding Procedures
- Liaise with external organisations as required
- Keep accurate, clear & concise records of all interventions, consultations & update the attendance system
- Maintain a good working knowledge of the statutory framework & any policies & procedures relating to school attendance
