A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Care or Family Paralegal to join its expanding Child Care team based in Leicester, Leicestershire on a hybrid working basis.

Role Responsibilities
- Acting as a first point of contact for clients and new enquiries
- Supporting case allocation and ongoing client communication
- Managing diaries, appointments, and court listings
- Supporting solicitors with client instructions and follow-ups
- File opening, conflict checks, and general case administration
- Liaising with counsel, experts, and third parties
- Preparing court documents, bundles, and supporting trial preparation
- Drafting letters, notes, applications, and routine legal documentation
- Assisting with Legal Aid Agency (LAA) processes, including CCMS submissions, extensions, prior authority, and billing support
- Attending client meetings (Legal Help work, supervised)
- Attending court with counsel and taking notes where required
- Closing files and ensuring compliance with internal processes

Person Specification
- Previous experience in a legal environment, ideally within a Child Care / Family team
- Experience with Legal Aid Agency processes (CCMS desirable)
- Paralegal or legal support experience preferred
- Strong communication and client care skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management ability
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Good written communication and drafting ability
- Professional, discreet, and empathetic approach
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Comfortable using case management systems
- Understanding of legal processes and office systems
