Location: Orston, Nottinghamshire

Hours: Any 5 days in 7 (6 when required) 40 hours per week

Hourly Rate: £13.12 per hour

At Pilgrim's Europe, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for a motivated and reliable Farm Assistant to join our Broiler Farming team and help deliver the highest standards of bird welfare, farm management, and production performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career within the poultry industry. Full training will be provided, with future development opportunities available for individuals who demonstrate commitment and potential.

The Role

As a Farm Assistant, you will support the Farm Management Team in the day-to-day operation of a broiler farm. You will learn all aspects of poultry husbandry and play a key role in maintaining bird welfare, farm standards, and operational efficiency.

Key Duties Will Include

  • Assisting with the daily care and welfare of birds.
  • Monitoring farm conditions and reporting any concerns.
  • Maintaining accurate farm records relating to birds, feed and supplies.
  • Supporting activities such as bird weighing, vaccination programmes and bird collection.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and biosecurity.
  • Assisting with basic farm maintenance and ensuring equipment is operating effectively.
  • Supporting environmental and sustainability initiatives across the farm.
  • Working closely with the Farm Manager to develop your skills and knowledge within the poultry sector.
  • Helping to ensure the security and professional appearance of the farm at all times.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Reliable, flexible and self-motivated.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of animal welfare.
  • Eager to learn and develop new skills.
  • Comfortable working in an agricultural environment.

Previous poultry or farming experience would be beneficial but is not essential as full training will be provided.
