Salary: £13.12 per hour

Requirements:

  • Must hold a full driving licence.

Purpose of Role

  • To assist the Farm Management Team and learn all functions of managing a Company Broiler farm.
  • Ensure that stock produced meets the highest standards in terms of weight, quality, and welfare.
  • Opportunities for further development are available for those with potential.

Responsibilities

  • Gain a full understanding of poultry in MP.
  • Contribute to the department by developing requisite skills in line with MP competency framework.
  • Actively seek to reduce negative environmental impact through processes and procedures.
  • Maintain correct and up-to-date records of all matters relating to birds, food, and supplies.
  • Assist other operations such as vaccinating, bird weighing, catching, and collection.
  • Be aware of basic first aid and possess the Basic Food Hygiene certificate as per E.U. Ruling.
  • Take responsibility for self-development and training in all aspects of farm management.
  • Maintain communication with the farm management team regarding the performance of the crop.
  • Maintain the professional integrity and appearance of the farm at all times.
  • Ensure bird welfare is of utmost priority.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring the farm is kept clean and tidy.
  • Monitor ventilation, heating, feed, water, and lighting patterns within agreed guidelines.
  • Ensure all procedures are carried out to Company specifications, chemicals are utilized safely, and any shortfall should be reported immediately.
  • Have a basic understanding and working knowledge of the operation of all equipment on the farm.
  • Ensure adherence to all aspects of Company policy regarding health and safety.
  • Take part in the responsibility for the overall security of the farm.
  • Advise and recommend to the Farm Manager any improvements in methods and/or operation.
  • Support with swabs and veterinary requirements.
  • Monitor turnaround periods, wash, litter removal, etc.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
