Farm Manager (Laying)

Lead the farm. Drive performance. Put bird welfare first.

We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Farm Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a modern egg-laying farm.

This is a key leadership role where you’ll oversee flock health and welfare, maximise egg production and performance, lead and develop your team, and ensure the farm operates to the highest standards of biosecurity, safety and efficiency.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing flock health, welfare and productivity
  • Monitoring egg production, feed consumption, mortality and key performance indicators
  • Maintaining rigorous biosecurity, hygiene and disease prevention standards
  • Leading, coaching and developing your farm team
  • Managing feed, equipment and farm resources efficiently
  • Overseeing facilities and coordinating maintenance to minimise downtime
  • Maintaining accurate records and using data to drive continuous improvement

About you:

You’ll be a confident and capable people manager with experience in poultry, agriculture or livestock production. You’ll understand the importance of exceptional animal welfare and biosecurity, while also having the commercial awareness and operational focus needed to deliver strong farm performance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
