Farm Operations Manager – Poultry
Edstaston, Shropshire, SY4 5RF
£42,500–£46,500 per year, dependent on experience
5 days per week | 06:30–16:00
Accommodation allowance or company-owned accommodation, subject to availability
We are looking for a strong, organised and hands-on Farm Operations Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our poultry site in Edstaston.
Poultry experience is advantageous, but it is not our main priority. We are looking for an experienced manager who can lead people, plan effectively, organise workloads, manage performance and take ownership of site standards and results.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Leading, motivating and managing the site team
- Planning rotas, staffing levels and daily workloads
- Setting clear expectations and ensuring work is completed effectively
- Managing attendance, performance and conduct
- Recruitment, induction, training and development
- Maintaining high standards of bird welfare, biosecurity and hygiene
- Ensuring Health & Safety and regulatory compliance
- Monitoring site and flock performance against KPIs
- Preparing for audits and inspections
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting site performance
- Identifying issues and implementing practical improvements

What We're Looking For
- Strong team-management and leadership experience
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Confidence managing performance and holding people accountable
- A practical, hands-on management style
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritise and make decisions in a busy operational environment
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance
- Previous poultry/agricultural experience is advantageous but not essential
