Role Description
The Fashion and Textiles Tutor will deliver remote, one-to-one and small group sessions in fashion, textiles, and related design subjects, following relevant school or exam board curricula where required.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Planning engaging lesson content
- Explaining key concepts in fabric technology, garment construction, and fashion illustration
- Supporting learners with coursework, projects, and exam preparation

The tutor will regularly assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and abilities.
Additional duties may include:
- Creating digital resources
- Communicating with learners and caregivers about goals and progress
- Maintaining accurate records of sessions
This is a contract role, carried out fully remotely with flexible scheduling.
Qualifications
- Strong subject knowledge in fashion, textiles, and garment construction, with the ability to teach both practical and theoretical aspects.
- Experience in lesson planning, curriculum alignment, and developing structured learning materials for secondary or post-16 learners.
- Proficiency in providing clear explanations, academic guidance, and constructive feedback that supports learner progression.
- Ability to use online teaching platforms and digital tools effectively to deliver interactive remote sessions.
- Prior tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience, ideally within fashion and textiles or related creative disciplines.
- Relevant academic or professional background such as a degree, diploma, or industry experience in fashion, textiles, or design.
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills, with a learner-centered and inclusive approach.
- Commitment to non-discriminatory practice, safeguarding, and supporting the wellbeing and confidence of all learners.
