Join our team at the Guardian and be a part of a diverse and inclusive global organisation that delivers fearless, investigative journalism, and holds power to account. Our team of award-winning journalists, cutting-edge commercial professionals, and industry-leading digital experts are committed to making a difference and represent a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives. We offer a challenging and exciting environment for career development, with a focus on training, growth, and fostering an inclusive culture.

We are looking for a fashion assistant intern to support the styling editor and the wider Guardian fashion team working across print and digital.

From helping on cover shoots to assisting celebrity portraits and working across fun and varied still life and shopping galleries, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone hoping to move into a styling role in the future. We are ideally looking for someone with experience assisting a stylist but also a wide knowledge of high and low fashion, and both youth and catwalk trends.

This is a 6-month non-NUJ fixed-term contract position, working part-time, three days a week.

About the role

  • Assist the Styling Editor on shoots which will typically, but not exclusively, involve steaming clothes; packing samples; helping out in the studio; providing refreshments, liaising with couriers and returning clothes to suppliers in good condition immediately after shoots
  • Maintain the fashion cupboard, ensuring it is kept tidy at all times with samples being well looked after, labelled, and protected from damage
  • Maintain press samples movement in and out of the building, ensuring returns are tracked and well managed. Keep all corresponding paperwork up to date
  • Call in clothing samples for shoots under the direction of the Styling Editor
  • Produce the merchandise credits for fashion shoots under the supervision of the Styling Editor
  • Establish and nurture strong PR contacts
  • Assist team members in general duties as required
  • Collect and collate images for online galleries and features

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
