Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Fashion Designer role based in Ilford. The Fashion Designer will develop innovative designs for knitwear and apparel collections, translating market trends, brand requirements, and customer insights into commercially viable products. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Creating sketches and technical drawings
- Selecting fabrics and trims
- Collaborating with production and embroidery teams
- Overseeing fittings to ensure accurate construction and fit

The role involves working closely with merchandising and sourcing teams, preparing mood boards and design presentations, and supporting the development of samples and final collections. The Fashion Designer will contribute to maintaining quality standards, aligning designs with sustainability and ethical practices, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Fashion Design and Fashion, with the ability to create original, trend-aware collections.
- Knowledge of Textiles, including fabric properties, knitwear construction, and material selection for durability and comfort.
- Proficiency in Embroidery and related decorative techniques, with an understanding of their application in garment design.
- Experience in Fitting, including reviewing samples, adjusting patterns, and ensuring accurate fit across sizes.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD tools) and ability to create clear technical packs.
- Relevant education in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in apparel design.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with production, merchandising, and quality teams.
- Attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to handle multiple design projects and deadlines.
- Understanding of sustainable and ethical fashion practices; experience in a manufacturing or knitwear environment is an advantage.
