At M&S, retail has an energy. Our customers feel it because our colleagues bring it. And it creates careers that outdo anything you may have imagined.

Setting new standards in shopping experiences. Creating food that gives the nation fresh flavours. Standing for sustainability. Making fashion that dials up expectations. That’s what we do here, and more. This is Retail. Turned up.

About This Programme

Love a challenge as much as you love our products? Get a buzz from finding better ways of doing things? Then you could help take our supply chain and logistics to the next level.

Supply Chain & Logistics is central to our long-term growth strategy – and this programme has been designed to help drive it forward.

From day one, you will play a vital role in delivering products to customers by improving the efficiency of our supply chain and operational teams. You'll learn how products move through our network, how capacity is managed and how operational excellence helps us create the M&S magic customers know and love. The programme itself lasts two years – but it’s really just the start of a long-term career with us.

What you'll be doing

You'll start with a four-month placement in one of our stores, gaining first-hand insight into our customers, colleagues and operations.

From there, you'll begin building expertise through a series of carefully designed experiences and rotations. This will give you an elevated understanding of our Fashion, Home and Beauty business while developing specialist knowledge in our operations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What it takes to succeed

We're looking for future leaders who are curious about how our products get to customers, ambitious to improve the way we do things and excited by the opportunity to make a difference.

You will have completed any degree by the time the programme starts in September 2027. However, what matters most is a ‘give it your all’ mindset, a motivation to learn and your passion for delivering exceptional experiences for customers.

You'll Thrive If You Can

  • think boldly and challenge the status quo
