Power Systems Test & FAT Engineer

Location: Bradford
Salary: £47,300 + Benefits

A specialist engineering consultancy is looking to appoint an Power Equipment Test & FAT Engineer to support the build, testing, fault-finding & final acceptance of high-performance RF antenna systems.

The role:

  • Test, tune & fault-find RF antenna products prior to dispatch.
  • Carry out Factory Acceptance Testing with customers, ensuring equipment meets specification, quality standards & agreed test procedures.
  • Use RF test equipment including VNAs, spectrum analysers, signal generators & power meters.
  • Diagnose performance issues across antenna, cable, connector, filter & associated RF assemblies.
  • Record test results, produce clear reports & manage non-conformances through to resolution.
  • Work closely with Design, Production, Quality & Project teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Support investigations into product failures, root cause analysis & continuous improvement activity.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning or customer technical support when required.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in RF, microwave, antenna, telecoms, defence, aerospace or electronics manufacturing environments.
  • Practical experience of RF testing, alignment, tuning & fault-finding.
  • Confident using a Vector Network Analyser, ideally across a broad frequency range.
  • Experience supporting FAT, customer witnessing or formal test documentation would be advantageous.
  • Able to read technical drawings, test procedures, schematics & product specifications.
  • Methodical approach to problem solving, quality & documentation.
  • HNC/HND, degree or equivalent practical experience in Electronic Engineering, RF Engineering or a related discipline.
