Christmas is coming to Jarrolds
We are looking for a very special cast of Father Christmases and Christmas Elves to help us create an unforgettable festive experience for our customers.
As an independent department store with a passion for beautiful things, exceptional service and memorable experiences, we want to bring a little extra magic to Christmas this year.
Roles
Father Christmas
We are looking for a warm, charismatic and utterly convincing Father Christmas to become the face of our Jarrolds Christmas experience.
You should have a wonderful natural presence, a great sense of humour and the ability to make every child feel as though they are the most important person in the room.
We are particularly interested in people with experience in:
- Theatre and performance
- Children's entertainment
- Storytelling
- Hospitality or customer experience
- Previous Father Christmas roles

Christmas Elves
Our Elves will be the magical hosts of Christmas at Jarrolds by welcoming families, creating excitement and helping our guests feel part of the story from the moment they arrive.
We are looking for people who are:
- Naturally warm, friendly and outgoing
- Confident around children and families
- Playful, energetic and imaginative
- Comfortable improvising and staying in character
- Professional, reliable and beautifully presented
- Passionate about creating exceptional customer experiences
You don't need to be a trained actor. Personality, presence and the ability to create genuine Christmas magic are what matter most.

The Audition
We want to meet people who can make Christmas feel magical, authentic and memorable.
The audition will include some simple character and improvisation exercises, which may involve:
- Meeting an imaginary family
- Talking to a child about their Christmas wishes
- A short storytelling or character exercise
- For Father Christmas applicants, a short Father Christmas performance
Don't worry about getting everything "right". We are looking for warmth, personality, imagination and that special Christmas sparkle.
Auditions
w/c 5th October
Along with your CV, send us a short introduction, recent photograph and details of your relevant experience.
