Santa Performer for our 2026 Christmas Grotto
This is a paid seasonal role, ideal for someone who is confident with children and families, enjoys creating a magical festive experience, and can stay in character throughout each session.
You will be welcoming families into our Christmas Grotto, chatting with children, listening to Christmas wishes, handing out gifts, posing for photos, and helping to create a calm, happy, and memorable Christmas experience.
You will be supported by the View Garden Centre team throughout the event.
Dates Required
You must be available to work all weekends from Saturday 21st November to Sunday 20th December, plus the final Christmas week dates.

Approximate Hours
- Saturdays: around 9:30am–4:30pm
- Sundays: around 10:00am–3:30pm
- Monday 21st to Wednesday 23rd December: around 9:30am–4:30pm
- Christmas Eve: around 9:30am–1:30pm
Exact times will be confirmed before the grotto goes live.
Main Duties
- Welcome families into the Christmas Grotto
- Speak warmly and confidently with children and parents
- Stay in character as Father Christmas throughout the day
- Listen to children’s Christmas wishes
- Hand out gifts
- Pose for family photos
- Help keep each session friendly, calm, and magical
- Work with the View Garden Centre team to keep bookings running smoothly
- Represent View Garden Centre in a professional and positive way

What We’re Looking For
- Warm, friendly, and patient personality
- Confident speaking with children and families
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable staying in character
- Comfortable posing for photos
- Professional and presentable
- Able to work the full list of required dates
- Previous Santa, acting, performing, children’s entertainment, teaching, customer service, or events experience would be helpful
A current DBS certificate is preferred, but not essential, as View Garden Centre can arrange a DBS check for the right person. Appointment will be subject to suitable checks being completed. Own Santa suit is preferred, but not essential.
Pay
Paid hourly at a rate above National Minimum Wage.
