Job Description
Join a dynamic, multifunctional team at the heart of structural integrity for the entire Airbus fleet.
You will tackle complex, real-world challenges, delivering structural repairs and processes that ensure the continued airworthiness of aircraft.
Our work is diverse: Supporting daily repair turnaround times to supporting complex major repairs and wing test activities.
We enjoy the challenge of creating and delivering effective repairs for any damage, anywhere on the wing.
The Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) team provides integrated support to all 1SAWD activities, reporting to the HO 1SAWD1.
This role is responsible for leading the delivery of all F&DT analyses and justifications for metallic and composite structures.
Technical Authority: You will partner with Lead, Senior and Principal F&DT engineers to guarantee the technical integrity of all work.
Critical Validation: You will work closely in partnering Design and Static Stress engineers to assess and validate repairs to damaged aircraft structures.
Influence & Management: Tasks may also include guiding sub-contract suppliers, presenting major repair scoping to senior stakeholders, and managing external work packages.
Develop: A key responsibility is developing yourself toward signature delegation.
What You'll Be Doing Day-to-Day
- Execute F&DT analysis and compile justification reports for repair designs, collaborating with skilled Design and Static Stress engineers to develop optimum repairs.
- Integrate with cross-functional teams to support major work packages and complex incident response.
- Provide support to other structures repair teams such as Fuselage, Empennage, and High-Lift devices, when required.

Who We're Looking For
You are a skilled aerospace structural analysis engineer who enjoys collaborating to find effective solutions to complex technical problems.
You are pragmatic, a skilled problem-solver, and capable of making well-reasoned decisions.
You are organized and driven to deliver technically correct, on-time, and high-quality results, even within tight time constraints.
You collaborate effectively with teams inside and outside Airbus (including external subcontractors).
Essential Requirements to Apply
- Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) and relevant professional experience.
- Proven background in aerospace F&DT engineering.
- Hands-on experience performing F&DT analysis using approved tools like ISAMI and GISEH, and generating comprehensive Technical Dossiers/Reports.
- Solid technical grasp of F&DT analysis for both metallic and composite structures.
- Understanding of fundamental fatigue and damage tolerance methods, with the ability to develop these methods.
- Knowledge of Airworthiness regulations.
Skills That Will Set You Apart
- Familiarity with the application of Finite Element analysis.
- Understanding of Airbus design principles, processes, methods, manufacturing capabilities, and specific knowledge of metallic and composite Airbus Wing structure.
- Signature Ready: Must currently hold F&DT approval delegated signature, or demonstrate the capability to achieve it within 6-12 months through our robust development framework.
