Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused F&B Team Member to join our dynamic hospitality team in Birmingham, United Kingdom. In this role, you will be the face of our food and beverage operation, delivering exceptional service to our guests while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and efficiency. You will work collaboratively with your team to create memorable dining experiences, whether in our restaurant, bar, meeting rooms, or through room service. Your attention to detail, positive attitude, and commitment to excellence will be essential to your success in this position.

  • Prepare and maintain dining areas according to established procedures, ensuring tables and service stations are clean, organized, and ready for guests
  • Provide efficient and friendly waiter service, greeting guests warmly and making them feel welcomed and valued throughout their dining experience
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests, demonstrating thorough product knowledge and utilizing suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
  • Input orders into the POS system promptly and accurately, communicating clearly with kitchen staff to ensure seamless service flow
  • Collect prepared meals from the kitchen, verify order accuracy, and deliver items promptly to guests while maintaining optimal temperature and presentation
  • Maintain hygienic food service practices at all times, adhering to health and safety standards and company procedures
  • Take ownership of your designated section and station, ensuring consistent quality and organization throughout your shift
  • Handle room service operations with professionalism, including answering phones promptly, taking orders, and maximizing sales through product knowledge
  • Address guest concerns and problems with a positive, solution-oriented approach, escalating to management when necessary
  • Actively promote hotel facilities and services, identifying opportunities to enhance the guest experience
  • Perform additional reasonable tasks as requested by supervisors or management to support team objectives

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to provide efficient, friendly, and professional service that consistently creates positive guest experiences
  • Strong product knowledge and demonstrated skill in suggestive selling to maximize revenue opportunities
  • Proficiency in operating POS systems and taking accurate orders
  • Excellent understanding of food hygiene and safe food service practices
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse guests and team members
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative team player with a supportive attitude and willingness to assist colleagues
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks throughout your shift
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high service standards
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Positive, resilient attitude with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
  • Previous experience in food and beverage service, hospitality, or customer-facing roles (preferred)
  • Food hygiene certification or willingness to obtain certification as required by local regulations (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaborative relationships with team members
