Job Description
Customer relations
- Provides a warm, friendly and professional welcome to all guests.
- Builds rapport with guests and creates memorable experiences.
- Anticipates guests' needs and responds promptly.
- Offers menu recommendations and upsells food and beverage offerings.
- Resolves guest concerns efficiently and professionally.
- Maintains a visible presence on the restaurant floor and behind the bar.
- Ensures guests receive consistent service regardless of service area.
Professional techniques / Production
- Demonstrates excellent knowledge of all food, beverage and cocktail menus.
- Prepares and serves cocktails, wines, beers, spirits, coffees and soft drinks according to company standards.
- Takes and processes food and beverage orders accurately.
- Delivers food and drinks efficiently and professionally.
- Carries out table service and section management as required.
- Maintains cleanliness and organisation of bar stations and restaurant sections.
- Assists with setting up and resetting tables.
- Completes opening and closing procedures for both bar and restaurant operations.
- Ensures all service equipment remains in good working order.
- Supports private events, group dining and special functions.
Team management and cross-departmental responsibilities
- Works flexibly across bar and restaurant operations according to business needs.
- Supports colleagues during busy periods irrespective of assigned section.
- Communicates effectively with kitchen, reception, housekeeping and management teams.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude towards multi-skilling and operational flexibility.
- Participates in training across all Food & Beverage service areas.
- Maintains a collaborative "one team" approach at all times.

Commercial / Sales
- Promotes all hotel and restaurant services.
- Drives food and beverage revenue through suggestive selling and upselling techniques.
- Recommends premium products, cocktails, wines and specials.
- Maximises guest spend while enhancing the guest experience.
- Supports achievement of departmental revenue targets.
Management and administration
- Handles all transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Follows company cash handling procedures.
- Helps control stock, reduce waste and minimise breakages.
- Assists with stock counts and inventory management.
- Maintains accurate records where required.
- Follows all operational procedures and audit requirements.
Hygiene / Personal safety / Environment
- Complies with all company policies, health and safety regulations, and food safety standards at all times.
- Maintains excellent personal hygiene and grooming standards in accordance with company guidelines.
- Ensures hands are washed regularly and appropriate food hygiene procedures are followed.
- Adheres to all allergen awareness procedures and accurately communicates allergen information to guests and colleagues.
- Maintains a clean, organised and safe working environment in both bar and restaurant areas.
- Ensures all equipment is used correctly and any faults are reported immediately.
- Safely handles glassware, cleaning chemicals and service equipment in accordance with company procedures.
- Reports accidents, incidents, hazards and near misses promptly to management.
- Ensures spillages are cleaned up immediately to minimise health and safety risks.
- Follows manual handling procedures when moving stock, furniture or equipment.
- Participates in all mandatory training relating to health & safety, food safety, fire safety and licensing regulations.
- Supports the company's sustainability initiatives through responsible waste management, recycling and reduction of food and packaging waste.
- Ensures all service areas remain compliant with hygiene, cleanliness and safety standards throughout the shift

Flexibility Requirement
Due to the nature of the business, the Food & Beverage Team Member Bar & Floor is required to work across multiple Food & Beverage areas including the bar and restaurant floor. Duties will be allocated according to operational requirements, and flexibility is an essential requirement of the role.
