We're looking for a skilled tradesperson or experienced FE tutor to teach one or more construction trades - Painting & Decorating, Plumbing, Electrical Installation, or Plastering & Tiling - to learners working towards nationally recognised qualifications.
What you'll do
- Deliver practical and theory sessions in your trade specialism(s)
- Assess learner work and prepare them for trade tests and exams
- Maintain safe, well-organised workshops in line with industry regulations
- Support learner progress, attendance and wellbeing as a personal tutor
- Keep course content current with industry standards and awarding body requirements (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ, EAL)
What you'll need
- Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in a relevant trade
- Recent hands-on industry experience at a skilled/craft level
- GCSE/Level 2 English & Maths, or willingness to achieve this
- A teaching qualification (DET/PGCE/Cert Ed), or willingness to work towards one
- Enhanced DBS check (required for the role)
- Nice to have: Assessor award (TAQA/A1), previous teaching or mentoring experience, additional trade qualifications.
