Features Assistant – HairCon

The Assembly Events

Location: The Assembly HQ, Shenfield Essex
Department: HairCon
Reports to: Features & Content Lead / Event Director
Salary: £25,000 Permanent
Employment: Full-time

About The Assembly

The Assembly is an independent events and media business creating ambitious, audience-led brands across the professional hair, creative and lifestyle industries. Our Hair portfolio includes HairCon, Creative HEAD, FADED, the Most Wanted Awards, IT List Awards, Salon Smart and Runway. HairCon is our high-energy, content-led trade event for the professional hair and barbering industry. It brings together the brands, people, ideas and education shaping the future of hair. We are looking for a Features Assistant to join the HairCon team and help deliver content and experiences that make the event genuinely unmissable.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised, creative and highly motivated individual who wants to build a career in events, editorial and content. Working closely with the Features & Content Lead and wider HairCon team, you will help research, develop and deliver the editorial features, educational content, speakers, sessions and experiences that sit at the heart of HairCon. You will be involved in everything from researching potential contributors and chasing content for existing partners, to supporting speaker management, writing copy and helping bring features to life across the event and its marketing channels. You'll need to be highly organised, confident communicating with people and genuinely interested in the professional hair and barbering industry.

Key Responsibilities

Features & Content

  • Support the development and delivery of HairCon's features, sessions, talks and educational content.
  • Research potential speakers, contributors, brands, experts and industry stories.
  • Assist with writing, editing and proofing editorial and event content.
  • Help develop ideas for new features and experiences that will engage the HairCon audience.
  • Support the creation of website, email, social and event copy.
  • Maintain content schedules, deadlines and contributor information.
  • Research industry trends, news and emerging talent to help keep HairCon content fresh and relevant.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
