Feeder Forehearth Specialist (Engineer)
Irvine Plant
Role description
Operate feeder and forehearth equipment to ensure that glass containers can be produced as effectively as possible.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in establishing and maintaining efficient operation of the feeder and forehearth equipment during the job change process.
- Carry out maintenance work on feeders and forehearths to maintain efficient operation.
- Respond to any container defects detected in hot and cold end and make necessary changes to feeder and forehearth equipment to minimise the occurrence of container defects.
- Identify any malfunctions with the feeder and forehearth, repair if possible or refer to necessary personnel to minimise downtime.
Required skills / qualifications:
- Ability to work with feeder and forehearth equipment.
- Understanding of forehearth operation, maintenance, and equipment.
- Excellent engineering skills and initiative.
- Computer literate with good oral and written communication skills.
- Have a good understanding of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Tools and continuous improvement.
- Have an awareness of relevant Health & Safety and Hygiene Regulations.
