Fees Administrator

Central London
£35,000 - £45,000 + Bonus + Great Benefits

Are you an experienced Fees Administrator, Fees Clerk or legal finance professional looking for a varied and rewarding opportunity within a highly regarded London Barristers' Chambers?

This is an excellent opportunity to join the finance team of an established and highly respected Chambers, working as part of a small, supportive team responsible for billing and credit control from start to finish.

Reporting to the Finance Director and working under the supervision of the Fees Manager, you will play an important role in supporting the efficient collection of members' fees, while providing a high standard of service to barristers, clerks and professional clients.

This is a busy and varied role, ideally suited to someone who is personable, proactive and highly organised, with the confidence to communicate with a wide range of people and the initiative to look beyond simply processing tasks. You'll be encouraged to take ownership, investigate case history, adapt your approach and go the extra mile to ensure matters are resolved effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Processing details of work completed by barristers and rendering fee notes and invoices, including multi-currency billing.
  • Supporting the timely collection of members' fees and contributing towards Chambers' annual team collection target.
  • Managing and monitoring WIP and aged debt, working closely with practice management teams, clerks and individual barristers.
  • Dealing with routine and complex queries relating to fees, invoices and payments, liaising with barristers, clerks, Chambers members and professional clients by telephone, email and face-to-face.
  • Building positive relationships with internal colleagues and professional clients, while confidently and diplomatically chasing outstanding payments and resolving non-payments, overpayments and underpayments.
  • Processing member fee payments and supporting the management of relevant bank accounts.
  • Providing ad-hoc support to the Fees Manager and Finance Director, working collaboratively with the wider finance team to maintain an efficient and responsive fees collection process.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
