Job Description
Working as part of a multiskilled team, you will be responsible for working on FEM (Finite Element Modelling/Analysis) and Digital Analysis activities in Wing to support Stress analysis and justifications for metallic and composite structures. Your primary role will be to work closely with Loads, Design, and Stress Analysis teams to build and/or develop Finite Element Models as well as to extract results to help justify stress analyses. FEMs include Global FEMs (GFEMs), Detailed FEMs (DFEMs), and Integrated FEMs (IFEMs). Additional tasks may include managing offload packages of work to suppliers, including FEM factory, in-service repair with customer services, and guiding and supporting suppliers to provide Finite Element Results, etc. You will ensure adherence to FEM governance, airworthiness regulations, relevant design principles, processes, methods, and manufacturing capabilities guidelines. Prior Airbus experience is of added advantage. Automation skills, including EVE workflow development, are also an added advantage.

We are a dynamic multifunctional team delivering Finite Element Models, results, processes, and tools to support the Airbus fleet. A unique selling point for our team is that we work across all Airbus commercial aircraft, including R&T.
What You Will Be Doing
- Responsible for leading FEM (Finite Element Modelling/Analysis) and Digital Analysis activities to support stress analysis
- Provide technical guidance and support to the Airbus internal teams, including the offshore teams, and any suppliers as required.
- Supporting and developing the training for early careers and new starters. Also, supporting the signature development of yourself and other FEM engineers.
- Where necessary, leading packages of work, and integrating with analysis teams.
- Developing methods and processes for Finite Element Analysis of the future, working with method experts and tool owners to enhance the analysis capability of the FEM team.
- Deploy EVE, NGSA (New Generation Stress Analysis), and FDNS (Flight Dynamics and Sizing) for future programs.

About You
- You have experience in aerospace structural analysis engineering.
- You enjoy working as part of a wider team to develop effective solutions to complex technical problems.
- You organize and monitor tasks so that work progresses efficiently and meets customer expectations.
- You collaborate well in a team, and are able to work with other teams and individuals inside and outside Airbus (e.g., external subcontractors) to ensure efficient delivery of tasks.
- You possess excellent communication skills.
Essential Skills
- Aerospace Engineering degree (or Masters) and relevant engineering experience
- An understanding of the fundamental methods of stress analysis and an ability to develop these methods.
- An understanding of the static strength behaviors (loading, failure modes, etc.) of the aircraft structures.
- Knowledge and experience on both metallic and composite structures.
- Understanding of the airworthiness regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- The capability to work under pressure and ensure the delivery is technically correct, on time, and on quality within the tight time constraints.
- Be pragmatic, able to solve problems, and ability to make decisions based on a good engineering rationale.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of the application of Finite Element analysis and FEA tools.
- Understand the relevant Airbus design principles, processes, methods, and manufacturing capabilities.
- An experience of Finite Element Analysis is preferred.
- An experience in Airbus is preferred.
- Good knowledge and experience on both metallic and composite Airbus Wing structure.
