Job Description Care Team Leader - Supported Living

Full Time | 37.5 Hours per Week

We're looking for a Care Team Leader

To join our friendly and supportive team at Newman Gardens, a welcoming supported living service where people are encouraged to thrive, pursue their goals, and remain connected to their local community.

Whether you're already a Team Leader or an experienced Senior Support Worker ready for progression, this is an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership skills while helping others build fulfilling and meaningful lives.

Manager, Newman Gardens

The Difference You'll Make

As a Care Team Leader, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of support while creating a positive and encouraging environment for both the people we support and your colleagues.

You'll Be Responsible For

  • Leading, motivating and inspiring a team of Support Workers
  • Providing coaching, guidance and day-to-day support to colleagues
  • Conducting interviews, supervisions and development conversations
  • Promoting independence, choice and positive outcomes
  • Building strong partnerships with families and healthcare professionals
  • Ensuring care records and documentation are maintained to a high standard
  • Creating a safe, welcoming and empowering environment
  • Championing Lifeways' values and delivering outstanding person-centred care

Shift Pattern

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week.

Shifts Include

  • Early shifts: 7:00am to 3:00pm
  • Late shifts: 2:00pm to 10:00pm
  • Weekend working on a rota basis
  • One office-based day per month

Who We're Looking For

You May Currently Be Working As a

  • Care Team Leader
  • Senior Support Worker
  • Experienced Support Worker looking to progress into leadership

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Positive, proactive and solution-focused approach
  • Passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred support

Desirable

  • NVQ/QCF in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience supervising, mentoring or leading staff
  • Confidence in maintaining care documentation and records
