The Role

We are looking for a Female Health Physiotherapist on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract basis to support our Women’s First Team medical performance programme and help deliver our AWFC Female Health Strategy.

You'll work closely with the Medical Performance Lead and wider medical and performance team to enhance player health, wellbeing and performance through female health and sports medicine initiatives. You will support the ongoing development of our Female Health Strategy and department, this will include all aspects of the seven pillars - Menstrual, Breast, Perinatal, Pelvic Health, MSK, Nutritional and Kit Resources. You'll also provide matchday support as part of the medical and performance team.

Who we are

We are one of the most famous clubs in world football, with a rich heritage and history of success – read more about our history, here.

Beyond that, we are passionate about our local community and, behind the scenes, we have a wide variety of opportunities and career paths for all. We have a very defined purpose: to act for a winning team, culture and community. We achieve this by ensuring we are courageous in the pursuit of progress, we champion our community and each other, and that we do the right thing (even when no one is looking).

Our Commitment to Safeguarding

We are committed to ensuring that our environments for children, young people and adults at risk remain safe and inclusive. We therefore require successful candidates to complete a DBS check and other essential background checks prior to starting their employment. Depending on the responsibilities of the role, a DBS will be either a basic, standard, or enhanced check.

Your day-to-day

  • Lead the Female Health Strategy - you'll work closely with the Club Doctors to develop, implement and continually evolve AWFC's Female Athlete Health Strategy, while acting as one of the club's designated WSL Female Health Leads
  • Provide expert matchday support - you will act as Assistant Physiotherapist on matchdays and, where required, lead physiotherapy provision for fixtures in collaboration with the Head of Performance Services and Performance Physiotherapist
  • Coordinate player care through the pathway - you'll build relationships with Academy medical staff and oversee communication regarding Academy players joining the First Team, as well as supporting the management of loan player medical care
  • Deliver world-class medical and performance support - you will work alongside the medical and physical performance teams to enhance player health, wellbeing and performance, while supporting effective recovery and injury reduction strategies
  • Drive data-led decision making - you'll collect and analyse medical and performance data, identify injury trends and contribute to evidence-based strategies that improve performance and minimise injury risk
  • Maintain high standards and best practice - you will help develop departmental processes and standard operating procedures, ensuring all medical records, policies and practices remain compliant, accurate and aligned to industry best practice
  • Manage medical resources and operations - you'll support the organisation of medical equipment and consumables for training, matches and tours, while helping oversee the effective management of facilities and resources
  • Build relationships across the club - you will collaborate with technical, performance and recruitment staff, regularly reporting on player progress, maintaining confidentiality at all times and contributing to the ongoing development of the department

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
