Role Description

The Fencer role at Naio is a full-time work on a self-employed basis, on-site position based in Milton Keynes. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Installing and repairing a variety of fencing types (such as timber, metal, and security fencing)
  • Setting posts
  • Mixing and pouring concrete
  • Ensuring all work is completed to high safety and quality standards

The Fencer will:

  • Interpret site plans
  • Prepare groundworks
  • Operate hand and power tools as required

The role also involves:

  • Working closely with supervisors and team members
  • Maintaining a clean and organized worksite
  • Interacting professionally with clients and contractors

Flexibility to work outdoors in varied weather conditions and to travel between local project sites is required.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on fencing skills, including post setting, panel installation, gate hanging, and basic groundworks.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in fencing and landscaping, and ability to follow site plans or drawings.
  • Good physical fitness, with capability to lift, carry, dig, and work outdoors in different weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and site cleanliness.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a professional approach to clients and co-workers.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transport to Milton Keynes and surrounding project locations.
  • Previous experience in fencing, landscaping, construction, or a related trade is highly beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety regulations; relevant trade or safety certifications are an advantage.
