The Role

Ice Cream at Magnum ICC SA (Pty) Ltd plays a crucial role in optimizing the company's supply chain by developing and implementing robust Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes specifically for the ice cream portfolio. This individual will be responsible for forecasting demand, analyzing supply capabilities, and collaborating with various departments to ensure efficient production, inventory management, and customer service.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Lead the monthly S&OP cycle for the ice cream category, including demand planning, supply planning, and executive S&OP meetings.
  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using statistical models, market intelligence, and collaborative input from sales and marketing teams.
  • Analyze supply capabilities, production plans, and inventory levels to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with production, logistics, procurement, and finance departments to reconcile demand and supply plans, resolve imbalances, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to forecast accuracy, inventory turns, service levels, and production efficiency, providing regular reports and insights.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the S&OP process to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) processes by integrating demand forecasts and supply plans into the overall S&OP cycle.
  • Prepare and present S&OP recommendations and scenarios to senior management, highlighting potential impacts and proposed solutions.
  • Utilize advanced planning systems and tools to improve data analysis and decision-making.
  • Mentor and support junior team members in S&OP best practices.

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in S&OP, demand planning, supply chain planning, or a similar analytical role within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment, preferably with experience in frozen food or ice cream.
  • Strong analytical and statistical modeling skills with proficiency in demand forecasting techniques. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with S&OP software (e.g., SAP APO, Anaplan, Kinaxis).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is desirable.
  • Deep understanding of supply chain principles and their application in a manufacturing environment.
  • Thinks end-to-end and takes ownership for results.
  • Is comfortable working in a fast-moving, evolving organization.
  • Values collaboration, clarity, and low-ego ways of working.
