Family Rights Group’s vision is a society in which families can thrive and all children have loving relationships to turn to throughout life.

Our mission is to ensure that the child welfare and family justice system support children to live safely and thrive within their family, while strengthening the family and community ties of those children who cannot live at home. Founded in 1974, our work combines commitment to human rights and social justice with expertise in child welfare law, policy and practice.

Family Rights Group has been at the forefront of introducing family group conferences (FGCs) in the UK since the 1990s and in their promotion. Our ambition is that FGCs become a common approach across the child welfare system to embed partnership working between families and the state to address needs and resolve safeguarding concerns in relation to a child.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
