Fiber Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fiber Engineer to join our dynamic team on a permanent basis in London. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and maintenance of our state-of-the-art optical network infrastructure, working on critical projects that impact connectivity across the region. Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and implement fiber optic network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- Perform high-quality cable splicing and termination for fiber optic networks, adhering to industry best practices.
- Conduct thorough testing and analysis of fiber optic links using OTDRs, power meters, and other diagnostic tools to identify and resolve faults.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including optical path impairments and connectivity problems, utilizing advanced problem-solving techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain accurate network documentation and designs, utilizing CAD software.
- Support the implementation and configuration of network devices, understanding routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
- Manage and execute fiber optic projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.

Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in fiber optics and optical network deployment and maintenance.
- GCSE or equivalent educational attainment.
- Proven expertise in fiber optics, optical networks, cable splicing, OTDR testing, power meters, and fiber connectors.
- Proficiency in network design principles and the ability to utilize CAD software for network documentation.
- Solid understanding of routing protocols, including BGP and OSPF.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Experience with project management methodologies.
- CompTIA Network+ and CCNA Routing and Switching certifications.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python scripting for network automation.
- Additional certifications in fiber optics or networking technologies.
- Familiarity with the London network landscape.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is preferred.
