Can you turn great retail execution into measurable commercial growth?

Are you confident influencing Area Managers, Regional Buyers and groups of stores – not just individual store managers? Do you understand the commercial story behind the display, promotion or listing, and can you use data to unlock the next opportunity?

Monster Energy is looking for an Account Executive – Grocery to help accelerate its growth across Tesco, ASDA, Sainsbury's and Morrisons throughout the South West.

This isn't a traditional merchandising or field sales position.

It's a commercially focused Account Executive role for someone who can combine brilliant in-store execution with account development, commercial thinking and senior-level influence.

The Company

For more than 20 years, Monster Energy has been disrupting the global beverage industry.

What started with Monster Energy has grown into a global portfolio of 17 energy drink brands, sold across more than 150 countries and territories, supported by over 500 global ambassadors across sport, music, gaming and culture.

Today, Monster has more than 6,000 people across 70+ countries, with the EMEA business selling more than 200 million cases in 2025.

But Monster still doesn't operate like a traditional FMCG corporate.

It's fast moving, ambitious and entrepreneurial, with a culture built around challenging what's possible, finding the next opportunity and getting things done.

DISRUPT. CREATE. REPEAT.

The Role

You'll take commercial ownership of a Grocery territory across the South West, helping grow Monster's performance within some of the UK's largest retailers.

Yes, you'll be in stores and close to execution, because that's where opportunities become reality. But your role goes much further.

You'll look across your territory and identify where the biggest opportunities exist, which customers and groups to prioritise, who you need to influence and what commercial proposition will unlock growth.

You'll build relationships from Store Managers through to Area Managers, Regional Buyers and Multiple Site Owners, using sales performance, category insight and promotional activity to create compelling commercial proposals.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Working closely with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP), you'll help land joint business plans and turn national agreements into incremental growth across your territory.

What you'll be doing

  • Taking ownership of the commercial performance of your territory across Tesco, ASDA, Sainsbury's and Morrisons.
  • Developing relationships with Store Managers, Area Managers, Regional Buyers and Multiple Site Owners.
  • Managing key store clusters and identifying opportunities to deliver incremental, above-plan growth.
  • Using sales data and category insight to build compelling commercial proposals and influence customer decisions.
  • Negotiating additional distribution, space, displays, promotional activity and chilled placements.
  • Turning national Head Office agreements into outstanding regional and in-store execution.
  • Working alongside CCEP's Regional, National Account and Field Sales teams to maximise Monster's growth.
  • Supporting and landing Joint Business Plans across key customers.
  • Planning, forecasting and reviewing sales performance and availability across your accounts.
  • Driving successful launches of NPD, promotions and brand activations.
  • Constantly looking beyond what's already there – the next display, next facing, next listing and next growth opportunity.

Who We're Looking For

We're not simply looking for someone who's worked in Grocery.

We're looking for someone who thinks commercially.

You might have started your career in field sales or merchandising, but you've progressed beyond simply executing a call file. You're now comfortable owning customers or a territory, identifying opportunities and explaining the commercial impact of the decisions you make.

You could currently be working as an:

  • Account Executive
  • Territory Account Manager
  • Customer Development Executive
  • Regional Account Executive
  • Field Account Manager
  • National Account Executive

Grocery experience would be valuable, but it isn't the only route.

We're equally interested in strong Account Executives from FMCG, Food & Drink, Convenience, Wholesale, Impulse or other consumer channels who can demonstrate the commercial capability to step into Grocery.

You'll ideally be able to demonstrate:

  • A proven track record of account development within FMCG or consumer goods.
  • Genuine ownership of a geographical territory, customer base or group of accounts.
  • The ability to identify an opportunity and translate it into incremental commercial growth.
  • Confidence using sales and category data to influence customers and support commercial recommendations.
  • Experience negotiating additional space, distribution, displays, promotions or listings.
  • The ability to influence beyond individual-store level, whether that's Area Managers, Regional Managers, Buyers or multi-site customers.
  • Strong presentation skills and the confidence to communicate commercially with groups and senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive mentality – when you see an ambitious target, your instinct is to work out how you're going to deliver it.
  • Strong planning, organisation and autonomy across a large territory.
  • A full UK manual driving licence.

The Opportunity

This role has been designed for someone ready for more than traditional field sales.

You'll have the autonomy to run your territory, the backing of one of the world's most recognisable beverage brands and the opportunity to build genuine Account Executive-level experience across some of Britain's largest Grocery customers.

It's still hands-on. You'll still be in stores. You'll still make things happen.

But you'll also be expected to understand why it matters, what it delivered and where the next commercial opportunity comes from.

If that's how you already think about FMCG sales, we'd like to hear from you.
