Field Application Engineering Manager – EMEA
Location: Crawley, West Sussex – Hybrid
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Are you an experienced Field Application Engineer, Applications Engineering Manager or Engineering Leader with a strong background in LCD displays, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI), embedded systems and customer-facing technical solutions?
We are looking for a Field Application Engineering Manager – EMEA to lead a customer-focused engineering function across Europe and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong, commercially aware engineering leader who enjoys working directly with customers, supporting sales teams, developing people and delivering innovative technology solutions. Based in Crawley with hybrid working, you will work across global engineering, sales and technology teams, supporting both existing customers and new business opportunities throughout EMEA.
About the Role
As the Field Application Engineering Manager – EMEA, you will be responsible for ensuring the success of engineering support for existing EMEA customers, while also helping to win new business across standard and customised solutions.
You will act as a key technical link between customers, sales teams and global engineering teams, providing expert advice throughout the customer journey – from pre-sales and demonstrations through to product development, implementation and ongoing support.

This is a highly visible, international role requiring strong technical expertise, commercial awareness and excellent relationship-building skills. You will work across a complex, global and multicultural environment and have the opportunity to shape and grow the EMEA FAE team as the business expands.
The role will involve international travel to meet customers, support projects and collaborate with colleagues across the global organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical engineering support across the EMEA customer base, supporting retention and new business growth.
- Provide pre-sales, RFQ and technical support, including product demonstrations and customer presentations.
- Identify customer requirements and develop effective HMI, display and embedded technology solutions.
- Manage engineering projects, resources, documentation and forecasting across EMEA.
- Lead, develop and mentor the growing FAE team.
- Work closely with global engineering, sales and operations teams to deliver successful customer outcomes.
- Support EOL management, new product development and technical training.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Travel internationally across EMEA and to other global locations as required.

About You
We are looking for a technically strong, customer-focused engineering professional with experience in a Field Application Engineering, Applications Engineering or similar customer-facing role. You will ideally have:
- Experience managing or mentoring an engineering/FAE team.
- Strong knowledge of LCD displays and HMI hardware – essential.
- Experience with BIOS, firmware, application software and embedded systems.
- Knowledge of x86 and ARM architectures and operating systems including Linux, Windows and/or Android.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Strong project management and organisational abilities.
- A degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
