Field Applications Specialist – Clinical & Industrial Microbiology
Our Mission
We’re dedicated to advancing microbiology diagnostics and quality control, empowering laboratories to deliver faster, more accurate results that protect public health and improve patient outcomes. From cutting-edge molecular diagnostics to robust industrial microbiology solutions, we partner with healthcare providers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and food safety labs to ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
The Impact You'll Make
As a Field Applications Specialist, you’ll be the trusted technical bridge between our innovative microbiology solutions and the scientists who use them. Your expertise will help clinical and industrial labs adopt new technologies with confidence, optimise workflows, and solve complex microbiological challenges. Whether you’re training a hospital microbiology team on rapid pathogen detection or helping a food production facility improve contamination control, your work will directly contribute to safer products, healthier patients, and more efficient operations.
What You'll Do
- Deliver engaging on-site and virtual product demonstrations for clinical and industrial microbiology systems, from traditional culture-based methods to advanced molecular platforms.
- Provide expert installation, configuration, and validation support for new instruments and software.
- Train laboratory staff on best practices, troubleshooting, and workflow optimisation to ensure maximum system performance.
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify customer needs and tailor solutions that meet regulatory and operational requirements.
- Offer post-installation technical support, including method development and application troubleshooting.
- Gather customer feedback to inform product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of microbiology trends, regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, GMP, CLSI), and emerging technologies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
