Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-focused Field Application Scientist to support the successful implementation of bioanalytical kit solutions and LC-MS-based workflows. This role will serve as a technical expert for customers using kit-directed metabolomics and small-molecule analysis workflows, including sample preparation, LC-MS instrument setup, data acquisition, troubleshooting, and data evaluation.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on LC-MS experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with scientists, laboratory staff, and cross-functional internal teams.
Location: This role is a field-based role with travel. Candidates will ideally be based in the UK or Germany near a major airport.
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite and remote technical support for customers using bioanalytical kits and LC-MS workflows.
- Serve as a kit champion by representing the company at events, webinars, and customer meetings, delivering technical presentations and product demonstrations that promote LC-MS kit adoption, customer education, and market awareness.
- Assist with customer onboarding, including LC system, mass spectrometer, and software setup for kit-based applications.
- Troubleshoot LC-MS performance, sample preparation, method execution, and data quality issues.
- Train customers on kit workflows, instrument readiness, data acquisition, and result interpretation.
- Develop and support customer-facing materials, including SOPs, FAQs, troubleshooting guides, application notes, and training content.
- Document customer interactions, technical issues, resolutions, and field feedback.
- Partner with Sales, Product Management, R&D, and Field Science teams to improve customer success and product performance.
- Provide voice-of-customer feedback to support kit development, workflow optimization, and service improvements.

Qualifications
- PhD degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Science, Bioanalytical Science, or a related field. Ph.D. in a relevant field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on LC-MS experience, preferably with platforms from Thermo, Agilent, SCIEX, or Waters.
- Practical knowledge of LC-MS method setup, tuning, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and data review.
- Familiarity with regulated or clinical laboratory environments, including CLIA, GLP, ISO, or similar quality systems preferred.
- Prior field applications, technical support, customer success, or service experience preferred.
- Experience with LC-MS-based kits, assays, or standardized workflows preferred.
- Experience with software platforms such as Xcalibur, Compound Explorer, MassHunter, Analyst, Skyline, or equivalent LC-MS data analysis tools a plus.
- Experience supporting small-molecule, metabolomics, or bioanalytical workflows.
- Strong communication, training, and customer-facing skills.
- Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel 50–60% of the time.
