Job Opportunity: Field Asset Officer – Multi-Utility
Location: Field-based – Midlands & North of England
Salary: Up to £55,000

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Field Asset Officer to join a growing independent utility network owner. This is a field-based role focused on inspecting and auditing newly constructed and existing utility assets, ensuring works meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards. The role is primarily gas-focused, with experience across electricity or wider multi-utility infrastructure highly desirable.

Responsibilities
- Inspect and audit newly constructed utility networks prior to adoption.
- Carry out assurance checks on existing assets.
- Ensure contractor works comply with relevant technical and safety standards.
- Review RAMS, permits, and safe systems of work.
- Identify defects, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance to contractors and internal teams.
- Complete accurate inspection and audit documentation.
- Travel across the region, typically visiting multiple sites per day.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience within gas distribution, utility construction, operations, or asset assurance.
- Strong knowledge of gas distribution engineering up to 7 Barg within MOBs.
- Experience with technical inspections, audits, or contractor supervision.
- Knowledge of SCO, SHEA Gas, IGEM/G/5, TD/3, and TD/4.
- Experience with RAMS, COSHH, and Permits to Work.
- Strong health and safety awareness.
- Comfortable with extensive regional travel.
- Strong communication and decision-making skills.

- Electricity / IDNO / DNO experience
- Multi-utility experience
- GIRS, NERS, or WIRS exposure
- SMSTS or NEBOSH
- Water network experience
