Field Based Retrofit Quality Inspector

About the Role

KSN Energy, a branch of KSN, operates in the construction industry with a focus on several schemes run by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). This role involves conducting field-based quality assurance inspections on the SEAI domestic grant schemes, ensuring that work complies with high-quality specifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections on completed Better Energy Home Schemes to verify adherence to SEAI’s Code of Practice and Specifications.
  • Accurate completion of inspection forms, both electronically and in print.
  • Offer energy advice and guidance to applicants, contractors, and colleagues.
  • Maintain customer service standards as outlined by SEAI and KSN Energy.
  • Schedule, manage, and fulfil appointments with homeowners via our helpdesk.
  • Conduct follow-up communications (phone, emails, paperwork) and handle administrative duties.
  • Attend required training sessions and comply with direction from scheme management.
  • Abide by KSN Energy’s Code of Conduct and any applicable regulations.

Key Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • FETAC Level Six Plumbing Qualification required.

  • RGII qualification (mandatory, though RGII experience preferable).

  • Preferred qualifications:

    • Heat Pump Installer Course
    • Knowledge of insulation measures/techniques
  • Strong background in construction, plumbing, or related trades.

Soft Skills:

  • Friendly demeanour with strong teamwork abilities.
  • Proficient in computer and technological skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication for explaining energy guidelines and customer interaction.
  • Capacity to manage challenging customer situations with professionalism.
  • Adaptability to changing SEAI/KSN Energy strategies.
  • Reliability, accountability, and commitment to meet deadlines and standards.
