GTS Group is recruiting on behalf of a leading specialist technology integrator that designs, installs and maintains advanced vehicle CCTV systems, telematics solutions, fleet technology, passenger safety systems and mobile surveillance equipment for some of the largest transport operators across the UK and Ireland.
The Opportunity
As a Field Service Engineer, you'll travel throughout Northern Ireland and/or the Republic of Ireland, installing, servicing and maintaining a wide range of on-vehicle electrical systems, including:
- Vehicle CCTV systems
- Mobile surveillance systems
- Fleet telematics
- Driver safety systems
- Vehicle communication equipment
- Passenger information systems
- On-board electronics
- Fleet security systems
- Transport technology
- Vehicle electrical equipment
You'll be responsible for ensuring customer fleets remain operational through high-quality installations, preventative maintenance and rapid fault diagnosis. This is a varied, hands-on engineering position where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
As the successful Field Service Engineer/Auto Electrician/CCTV Engineer, you will:
- Install vehicle CCTV systems on buses, coaches and commercial vehicles
- Install telematics and fleet management technology
- Carry out electrical installations and wiring modifications
- Diagnose electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
- Repair vehicle electrical systems
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Complete reactive breakdown repairs
- Commission newly installed equipment
- Carry out system upgrades and software updates
- Produce accurate service reports
- Provide excellent customer support on site
- Ensure work is completed to company and industry standards
- Travel throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland

Essential Skills
- Strong electrical fault-finding ability
- Vehicle wiring experience
- Diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read wiring diagrams
- Experience using electrical test equipment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently
- Full UK or Irish Driving Licence
- Flexible to travel across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland
- Willingness to participate in night work when required
