Senior Field Engineer (AI-Native Software Development)

A founding member of Tessl’s field team, deep in the AI ecosystems and building the future of software development

About Tessl

Fast-growing Series A startup leading the context layer for AI coding agents and enabling AI-native software development. Backed by world-class investors (Index Ventures, Accel, GV, Boldstart), ranked #2 in Sifted EU’s B2B SaaS Rising 100 and #20 in Sifted’s AI 100.

Build with us to shape how we engage customers technically, scale field operations, and bridge cutting-edge AI with engineering workflows.

The Opportunity

We’re hiring an early-stage Field Engineer—someone already immersed in the AI developer ecosystem, building, advocating, and pushing the boundaries of what AI can do in software today.

You’ll blend technical subject matter expertise with sales, I/O, and product feedback—owning the relationship from demos to adoption while collaborating across teams to refine customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Define & Scale Field Engineering

  • Help establish playbooks, processes, and tools to operationalise an early-stage field function—ensuring it scales efficiently as revenue grows.
  • Set the technical standard for customer interactions, from high-level strategy to implementation details.

Drive Sales Cycles with Technical Authority

  • Run tailored, developer-focused demos speaking directly to engineering challenges (CTOs → individual contributors).
  • Build trust through real-world proficiency in tools like Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot & Gemini, translating technical intricacies into actionable, compelling stories.
  • Navigate multi-stakeholder evaluations and pivotal proof-of-concept phases with clarity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
